The following information lists all of the endings that can be found in OneShot.

Original Version[]

Quitting the game[]

Quitting before solving the remote code puzzle (specifically until the "You only have one shot, Player." pop-up message) doesn't give the "bad ending", it doesn't save the game and activates the Dejavu Mode.
The "Quit" option of the "Items/Equipment/Notes/Quit menu" displays "But you only just started playing!". It returns you to the main menu and activates the Dejavu Mode too. Pressing the f12 key does the same thing except it doesn't warn you or ask if you really want to quit to the main menu.

After the remote puzzle was solved pressing the f12 key or quitting without using beds starts to give the "bad ending".
The "Quit" option of the "Items/Equipment/Notes/Quit menu" starts to display "Niko won't make it out alive.". It returns you to the main menu which looks and sounds normal but selecting "start" is the bad ending complete with the morbid pop-up message.

Upon opening the game after quitting, the Player will find that the title screen has gone dark, the lightbulb in the word "OneShot" has shattered, and Niko is gone and their scarf and hat are all that remains. "My Burden is Dead" plays in place of "My Burden is Light". When the Player selects "start", the room where Niko found themselves in at the beginning of the game is dark and empty. When the Player attempts to close the game, a pop-up window appears with a message (presumably from the Entity) that says: "You killed Niko.". The internal name for this ending is "ENDING_DEAD".

Post-Quitting Runs (Dejavu Mode)[]

At one point the original game was patched to give infinite attempts at the better endings. After the game closes after receiving the "bad ending" the game resets the save but any following playthroughs will be in the "ENDING_DEJAVU" mode. Quitting by any means even using a bed does technically activate Dejavu mode. In this mode, after Niko leaves the starting bed the Entity says "An odd feeling of deja vu overwhelms Niko." and that is the only change.

Save the world[]

If the Player chooses to return the sun, Niko responds that the Player is right, that they just can't leave all of the inhabitants of the World to die, thanks the Player for their help and promises that they'll be okay. They place the lightbulb onto the spire. This scene is followed afterwards by the closing credits of the game in white background and black text as well as images of the residents of the World witnessing the return of their sun. If the Maize seed was planted and given the Miracle Water the Maize baby appears in the credits. In this ending, the World's sun has been restored, but Niko does not return to their home world, as they did not shatter the lightbulb, which was their only way to return home.

If the Player attempts to reopen the game after getting this ending, they will find the title screen's Niko missing, background white and its text black. Upon choosing "start", the game opens to the room where Niko found themselves in at the beginning of the game empty and brightly lit with light coming from the World's sun, along with the track "Distant" playing.

The internal name for this ending is "ENDING_TRAPPED".

Return home[]

If the Player chooses the option to return home, the screen cuts to black and Niko responds that they trust the Player's judgement. A shattering sound effect can be heard, indicating that Niko has shattered the lightbulb, accompanied by the shaking of the game window. The screen then cuts to the part where Niko finds themselves in darkness with "Thanks for Everything" playing. They ask the Player what happened and comments that it is very dark. Afterwards, they exclaim that they see a light at the end of the passage and that they hear the voice of their mother calling them. They walk forward and explain that all they need to do is pass through the wall and they'll be finally home again. They bid goodbye to the Player and thanks them before walking out of the game window. Afterwards, the closing credits of the game appear but in a black background and with white text. The World immediately ends when this ending is chosen. A popup window with "Fatal Error" as its title then appears with the message: "The savior is gone. All hope for the world is lost.".

If the Player attempts to reopen the game after getting this ending, the same popup window appears and the game doesn't open.

The internal name for this ending is "ENDING_ESCAPED".

Steam / Itch.io / Console version[]

Quitting the game[]

Unlike in the original version, quitting the game doesn't lead to a bad ending. Instead, it acts as a "Save And Quit" feature. Upon re-opening the game, you'll be back at where you left off and Niko makes a remark of you doing this. Quitting the game prevents obtaining the "OneShot" Steam Achievement on that run.

Classic Tower Endings[]

Return the sun ending is very similar to the "Save the world" ending of the original version, except more people are credited, there's a new picture showing Lamplighter and you no longer end up at the title screen (you are brought straight to the fully lit starting room). Pressing any button closes the game.

Return home is also very similar to the original version, except more people are credited and there are 14 new pictures depicting several key locations losing their graphics and revealing the purple wireframes. The error message now says, "FATAL ERROR: SAVIOR NOT FOUND. SHUTTING DOWN." Choosing this ending prevents obtaining the "Rebirth" Steam Achievement on that run if the other conditions were met.

New Game Plus Runs[]

After completing and closing the game once you may delete the file "Documents/My Games/Oneshot/save_progress.oneshot" and relaunch the game to unlock NG+ and a few features/changes specific for this mode. the Solstice ending can now be obtained.
The Solstice countdown door is now active and if your PC date/time are not in the distant past "the room with portals and the clover bed that ends the current run early" and Hello Penguin room are now available.
The game no longer automatically shows instructions on how to play or use Fast Travel. Niko starts with a Strange journal, starting puzzle is different and the TV remote no longer spawns. Prophetbot now wont let you go unless you exhaust all of his first encounter dialogue. Clovers appear in a few new places and there are 2 new visions. Niko starts noticing their name written on the Glen Guardian's scroll. There's lot of small dialogue changes and Solstice ending hints.
Rue can be seen walking around her back alley room and will have unique dialogue for a few NG+ runs. Not before the third run she will reveal her name to Niko and learn theirs. From that point on the Solstice NPC trio will have different introduction dialogue in Solstice.

Solstice ending[]

Item blue journal glow “[You are going out of bounds.]”
WARNING! The following section contains Solstice spoilers. If you haven't played OneShot nor have done a Solstice run yet or if you wish not to be heavily spoiled, feel free to turn away from this section.
Main article: Solstice

In this ending, with the help of the Author (indirectly through the glowing journal), Rue, Cedric, and Proto, Niko confronts the Entity and reasons with them. Explaining that the Entity (or its true name, The World Machine, often abbreviated as TWM by the community) has been tamed all along and they have the ability to fix the world. After which, The World Machine succeeds in attempting to recover its original ending, an ending where the world is saved and Niko goes home.
The run starts in New Game Plus and truly begins when the Strange Journal begins to glow in the mines. If you don't ignore it you can summon a minecart. After that Niko can explore the mines. The Entity will ask you to turn around and will delete the minecart if you do. If you reach the end of the minecart tracks Rowbot gets corrupted by squares and you can no longer abort Solstice without using complicated combination of glitches.

Post-Solstice Runs[]

After completing Solstice, a new option, ". . ." appears along with the standard "Start", "Settings", and "Exit" options. Upon selecting it, the Player enters The World Machine's room, where it asks the Player if they would like to play "a recording" or not. Answering "No" simply closes the game.
Answering "Yes" to this lets the Player replay OneShot, but from now on Niko is represented by the Entity's reflection of them and all NG+ changes/features except for the Hello Penguin room behind the Countdown door are now unavailable. After finishing a post-Solstice run, the player does not need to delete the fake save file in order to start over but has to go through the ". . ." cutscene every time.
